Pop Some Funshine Greeting Card is a party popper inspired card featuring artwork by artist and screen printer, David Newton.

Under the moniker Newton Davey, David cuts, scribbles and builds layers of art traditionally and organically by hand. There are no digital interventions in David's process and the simplicity in his designs perfectly suits inky screens and squeegees.

The Pop Some Funshine design has embossed detailing and silver hot foil highlights. It measures 11.5 x 13.5cm and printed on FSC approved board in the UK. It comes with a cream envelope, is fully recyclable and is produced under license from David Newton.

Image Maker and Story Teller

David is foremost an image maker and story teller and is happiest where words and images combine in the printmaking process. Inspired by his surroundings in the streets and parks of North London, David's stories tend to contain brollies, beaks, beams of light and bags of colour.

Process

There are no computers used in a Newton Davey artwork. Shapes and lines are cut and drawn with scissors and pens and then montaged together on a screen print press to create the final work. There is a celebration in the imperfection that results from working organically - every splodge, pinhole or imperfect circle adds to the creation of the art form and forms part of the story telling process.

David also sells prints of his work off an etsy site. The link below will take you there.
